HOW TO CARE FOR LEATHER FURNITURE

Look after your leather furniture and it will stay durable and stylish for years to come. Here are some tips to keep your leather looking great.

Clean regularly

Wipe your leather furniture down weekly with a clean, dry cloth. Vacuum dust and dirt particles from the furniture's crevices using a soft brush extension on your vacuum cleaner.

Clean spills immediately

Wipe away any spills on your leather furniture immediately. Use a dry cloth to blot the spills. Never leave a spill to dry into the leather.

Don't use strong cleaning products

Never use cleaning products on your leather furniture that haven't been designed for leather. Detergents, solvents, all-purpose cleaning sprays, ammonia, bleach, and furniture polish can all damage leather furniture. Water and any leather approved cleaning products should be used sparingly.

Apply a leather conditioner

Every 6-12 months apply a leather conditioner to your leather furniture. This will help keep the leather from drying out and developing cracks.

Avoid direct heat and excessive sunlight

Avoid putting your leather furniture near a sunny window or a radiator. Sunlight and heat can cause leather to dry out and fade. If this positioning is unavoidable you could cover your leather sofa with a throw for when not in use.
