Born in the Welsh valleys, Ashwood Designs was founded by two industry veterans with a clear ambition: to prove that British craftsmanship, genuine innovation, and beautiful design need not be mutually exclusive.
Today, Ashwood is firmly established as one of the UK's leading upholstered furniture manufacturers, supplying independent retailers, including us at Potburys, across the country.
Made by hand, built to last
Every Ashwood sofa is handcrafted in the UK by skilled craftspeople. The company invests heavily in its workforce and the traditional techniques they use, while also embracing the latest CNC and cutting technologies. This blend of old-school craft and modern know-how ensures consistency and precision, giving their sofas a high-quality feel.
All Ashwood frames are constructed from hardwood, plywood, and high-density particleboard, then glued and screwed together for lasting stability. Ashwood is so confident in its construction that every frame comes with a reassuring 15-year guarantee.

Clever fabrics
Fabric is something Ashwood takes particularly seriously. They were early adopters of Aquaclean technology. This treatment coats every fibre with an invisible molecular layer, preventing stains from penetrating the fabric. Most everyday marks can be removed with just a damp cloth and plain water, making these sofas ideal for families with children or pets.
