Recently ercol welcomed the film crew from 'Inside the Factory' to their factory and showroom in Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire. The TV crew filmed the team making their iconic 1877 Windsor chair from start to finish. From the iconic steam-bent rail to the characteristic turned spindles, the ercol factory combines the latest technology with time-honoured craftsmanship to create beautiful, timeless furniture.
The Windsor range was launched at The Furniture Exhibition at Earl's Court in 1950 and has been in continuous production ever since. Created by ercol's founder, Lucian Ercolani, the Windsor Chair has undergone subtle changes over the years, but today it still retains the essential appearance and construction techniques of Lucian's original. If you'd like to learn more about this timeless and instantly recognisable chair, you can read the story on the ercol website.
We're stockists of the Windsor range, which includes dining chairs, dining tables, cabinets and sideboards. You can view the individual pieces online or in our Sidmouth showroom. And during our winter sale, you can enjoy 20% off the RRP of all ercol.
The Inside the Factory programme featuring ercol was shown on BBC1 last night. If you missed it, you have a second chance to watch it on Saturday 15th January at 18:00 on BBC2, or you can catch it on iPlayer.
